My initial thoughts from the first round are below:
Great Self-Published Fantasy Blog-off - The First Five
Great Self-Published Fantasy Blog-off - The Second Five
Great Self-Published Fantasy Blog-off - The Third Five
Great Self-Published Fantasy Blog-off - The Penultimate Five
Great Self-Published Fantasy Blog-off - The Final Six
Selecting just one title to be my Champion was tough, but I put on my editor/agent hat, looked at each title from a commercial perspective, and tried to gauge which has the greatest success of embracing the widest possible audience.
Great Self-Published Fantasy Blog-off - First Round Champion
That, of course, brings us to the final round of the process. Over the next 6 months, the 10 bloggers taking part will be reading the finalists and giving each a score out of 10. You can keep tabs on how everyone is scoring their reads HERE, and I'll be linking up my thoughts/reviews below.
- A Soul for Trouble (7.5/10)
- City of Burning Shadows (6.5/10)
- What Remains of Heroes (8.5/10)
- Shattered Sands (8/10)
- Under a Colder Sun (8/10)
- Blood Rush (6/10)
- The Weight of a Crown (8/10)
- The Thief Who Pulled on Trouble's Braids (8.5)
- Priest (6.0)
- Sins of a Sovereignty (8/10)
Best of luck to all the authors, a huge thanks to my fellow bloggers for dedicating themselves to the challenge, and a hearty congratulations to Mark Lawrence for such a fantastic idea.
